Alexander Springs

A few miles north of Eustis on the edge of the Ocala Forest is a local favorite to beat the heat. Get there early, the park hits capacity quickly in the summer months.

Swimming

Easily walk the slight grade into the spring to swim or snorkel the 72 degree water over the wide boil. The terrain is mix of sandy bottom and vegetation.

Scuba divers explore the network of caves at the spring head year around.

Paddling

Canoers can put in at the canoe launch at the spring head or on the bridge about 2 miles away.

If you’re staying at the campground, transporting boats by car is recommended, as portaging by hand would take quite an effort.

Camping

Camping is available on-site.

Dogs allowed on a leash in the camping area.

Hiking

There are hiking trails around the spring.

An entrance to the Florida Trail is a short hike west on SR455.
